Two-thirds of Irish tourists planning trip to Tunisia opt to continue

Most people who were due to fly out to Tunisia yesterday decided not to change their travel plans despite yesterday's terror attack.
At least 39 people, including a nurse from Co Meath, after a young man sprayed gunfire at European sunbathers the Tunisian resort of Soussa.

"About the-thirds of them opted to continue on the holiday to Tunisia, and the rest either went somewhere else or took a refund," said president of the Irish Travel Agents Association, Martin Skelly.
"It's a bit early to say what's going to happen, and we will be looking to the Department of Foreign Affairs for their advice on what's going to happen next."
The Irish Ambassador to Spain has arrived in Tunisia to liaise with authorities after yesterday's gun attack on a beach in Sousse.
David Cooney and consular officials will also assist the family of Meath woman Lorna Carty who was among the 39 people killed in the attack by Islamic State.
The Department of Foreign Affairs said that it cannot rule out the possibility that more Irish people were injured.
Irish people on holiday in Tunisia are being advised to contact their local representative and take guidance from hotel staff.
