51-year-old April Lee Yates was arrested on July 12th after refusing to pay her bill at a seafood restaurant at Bennetts Calabash in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The management asked Yates to pay her $26 bill and leave, but she refused. So they reported the case to the police.
When the officer arrived on the scene and asked her if she had money to pay the bill, her reply was a no. The officer then asked her what she planned to do with the bill and she insisted that “Jesus will cover the cost.”
The police arrested Yates on a charge of defrauding a restaurant due to the fact that she was aware that she had no money when she ordered the food.
