Irish woman dies in Liberia



A woman with dual Irish-American citizenship has died in Liberia, it has been reported.
The Departtment of Foreign Affairs is providing consular assistance the family.
The Irish Independent reports that the American Embassy is to take the "lead role" however, and that ebola has been ruled out as a cause of death.

The warning is in place for counties Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Sligo and Clare.

30-year-old Patricia Allen was arrested by the Irving Police in Texas after three of her five children drowned in a pool while she was distracted on her phone. Allen took her five children to the apartment pool where the three oldest children (9-year-old Treshawn Smith, 10-year-old August Smith and 11-year-old Anthony Smith) drowned.

A businessman in Japan has unveiled a hotel run by robots, insisting the move is not a gimmick but a serious attempt at reducing costs. Henn na Hotel, as it is called in Japanese, was shown to reporters on Wednesday, complete with robot demonstrations, ahead of its opening to the public on Friday.

Hideo Sawada, who runs the hotel as part of an amusement park, said the move to use robots was aimed at utilising technology and achieving efficiency.

President Obama To Become First Sitting President To Visit Federal Prison

In a visit where he is expected to push for criminal-justice reform, President Barack Obama will become the first sitting president to visit a federal prison when he travels to Oklahoma next week.
On Thursday, Obama will meet with law enforcement officials and inmates at El Reno Federal Correctional Institution outside Oklahoma City. According to a White House press release, the president will also be conducting an interview for a “Vice” documentary focused on the criminal justice system in this nation.
The documentary is set to air this fall on HBO.
